HAND DRIVER FOR PREPARATION OF ZYGOMA IMPLANT BED
We introduce the hand driver divised by Dr. Satoshi Kato for zygoma implant bed preparation.
The purpose of using the instrument is for precision making the entrance of zygoma in the surgery. The instrument makes sure the entrance of zygoma, which is easy to slip with the mechanical round drill in the surgery.
If the instrument is used, the operation type is not according to conventional Dr. Branemark drill sequences.
At first, if the implant trajectory roughly determined in the surgery, the hole of a little bit less 3.5mm diameter hole can be made on the alveolar starting point.
And second, from the sinus window along the implant trajectory that will be placed, sinus membrane could be reflected and pushed to the area of zygoma entrance. With using the hand instrument with round or precision drill, we can make sure the point of entrance of zygoma.
And third, zygoma cortical may be perforated with round or twist drill of 2.0mm diameter attached zygoma hand-piece or contra-angle.
The instrument: now the instrument is improved named KATO II over prototype, will be delivered from Dr. Satoshi Kato in Kato Dental Clinic and build-to-order manufacturing in Japan (about 1 month waiting), about 200,000 JP Yen (about 1835 US dollar: as 1dolar= 109 yen) and shipping fee are required in buying it.
