A MARK ON THE SHORT GUIDE PIN: FOR AN OPENED-TRAY IMPRESSION TECHNIQUE.
We had been difficult to perform impression taking of patients with short inter-maxillary distance. There is an every method of an opened-tray or a closed-tray technique to take impression for screw-retained implant prosthesis (SRIP). We usually prefer to choose an opened-tray method for a point of view of precision. In impression taking for SRIP, there needs a space for impression copings with guide pins and a screw driver. Patients do not always have enough space although short guide pin (SGP) and short screw driver (SSD) can be available. When we use short guide pin, it is not nice to use for the reason being buried under the impression material. In these cases, we use the method for easy access to add the mark on the the head of guide pin indicated below.
